I would think for many, an LCD TV would be the easiest to tolerate.
Plasma would be the worst. Tubes would (I think) be somewhere
in the middle.
Everyone is different however, and even individual sensitivities
change with time.
I don't have any experience with rear-projection sets -- perhaps
these are even more tolerable than LCDs?
For front-projection, you need to worry about your distance to
the projector, which usually would be closer to you than a
standalone set. However, if you have a lot of space, you could
use a front-projector to rear-project from a distance.
And certainly you can hook up a computer to a projector. This
is done in businesses for presentations, etc.
