I have been seeing a five-element taoist acupuncturist for the past two-and-a-half years for this, and the gains are slow - I won't lie, some of my treatments have had pretty blank-ing awful side-effects - but I have had some improvement and desensitization, along with working through some pretty deep-seated personal problems totally unrelated (but I guess everything's related in your body - that's part of the 'problem', isn't it?  I feel for you.)  Until you can get your own body energy better stabilized, I wouldn't play with 'energy work', though, especially on your own.  Be aware that some of this stuff can literally change how you think/operate/believe, and not always in a good/wanted way.  I stand by my therapist, though:  she's been a godsend, practically working on me pro bono, teacher-level who can actually feel the individual points as well as the meridians (and frankly I'm surprised she doesn't have problems with this!).  I've been able to handle minor types of clay/charcoal detox because of this along with some other things that finally helped - my system was way too hyped up before.

Yeah, stimulants are probably out for you - that much makes sense.  I've never been able to tolerate shielding of any kind, 'cause it's not a sheet of lead: it can make stuff bounce in different directions and even concentrate, I can't stand to be within a houselength of even a silverelle baseball cap!  Supplements are tricky, too, especially if you have any allergies.  Everybody has different needs, different sensitivities.  My allergist once suggested that roots overall are probably less allergic than leaves and flowers, but use your own judgement.  Start _small_.  Break pills and open capsules.  This is your body we're talking about here.  One good thing to try:  go and get a bottle of chewable GABA pills, cut one in four pieces and _lick_ one of them (I am not kidding).  If you start feeling really tired after a few trial licks or even a teensy nibble (the effect is unmistakable), _stop_.  If it has no effect at all, chew some more and wait.  If you can eat the whole pill and not feel anything two hours later, your blood-brain-barrier is okay.  If not, you've been warned: your chances of unwanted effects from any substances you ingest is going to be far higher until it's fixed.

Are you still able to work?
