Thanks sailplane.  Unfortunately, I'm a renter and can't make alterations to the house's structure, i.e. the outside wall. besides which, the bedroom is on the 2nd floor and the outside wall is stucco.  I figured I could do the inside wall if it wouldn't damage the wall, but then if the shielding is reflective, it would reflect RF back into the room from opposite wall which probably has RF coming through it from the other side of the house, wouldn't it?  House is only 30' wide, room is 14' wide.

Also, I don't understand the grounding plate that's needed with the Signal Protect.  Does the plate have to be grounded, and if so, to what?  Or is the plate itself the ground?

What is TX power on a wifi?  How would a person know if they have it?  Via the firmware?  How does a person find out where the firmware info is?  (Your link didn't work for me and I don't have wifi myself - my router is ethernet only--so trying to explain it to someone else is going to be difficult without understanding it myself.  :-)
