Maybe hire a handyman to install it on the outside wall of the house,.. inside it may work but not as good.
they need to adjust the TX Power on their router. If they have a router with TX power it will show in the firmware when they got to
http://192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1  usually the login/password is admin and admin

But, likely they have cell phones and wireless TV and wireless printer, and who knows how many.. and fixing the router to go down a bit will not help enough. This is my situation anyway... one thing ok, but people usually have lots!  So.. you gotta put the shielding. RF Shielding mesh..
