Circa Dec.2016, after I read that the Greater Denver Area would be getting Smart Meters beginning Jan.2017, to be rolled out over a four-year period through 2021, I sent my brother a message to warn him (& his adult married children w/babies & toddlers) to "be prepared," keep an eye on his meters, see about opt-out, etc.
His succinct typed reply, & I kid you not:
"Shrug Shoulders."
That was it!
SMH. Exasperating.
WRONG ATTITUDE.
WRONG ANSWER...
especially because he's already known for several years that I'm being literally tortured by them since 2014.
Most people will not believe until they suffer & add 2+2. Those who "can't (won't) add" (ie, read, research) will blame something else, as you also described.
