I would agree Marc about no protection devices being panaceas though some are very helpful.

Where I was living last protection against direct current seemed to be needed, I was living on the third level of an old house about 70 meters from a railway station.

I found protective devices and then 9 months later these appeared to stop working, I decided to take a drive locally and found a new cell tower had been erected about 200 meters away.

I bought a different type of protector and this worked and interestingly the wasps nest in the roof seemed to vacate the local area as well.
