I, too, am on the somewhat extreme side of light sensitivity.  It became evident at a young age while  growing up in sunny Florida.  A few rooms in my house make me want a pair of sunglasses on sunny days.  I usually wear those big plastic blue-light blocking glasses when watching TV or on the computer as my vision goes blurry quickly if I don't.  I find those blue light-blocking glasses comfortable outside, but when removing them it takes a little while for the color vision to go back to normal after wearing them outdoors.
