On the firmness of the latex. You might try medium firm, b/c firm can be too firm.

The other issue I found is this.   When the mattress cover is zipped up mine became too firm, even though I had a medium width. I unzipped one side & loosened the outside cover & I love it. 

The guy at Sleep On Latex agreed latex is more  comfortable if it can breath.  So you might be better off with a core and a topper verses the put together mattress.

Two people in our house love chemical free latex.

 The trick for me is to use a cotton quilt  w/o any polyester stuffing. in the summer.  With A/C the heat is not an issue for me.  

I know we're all different though.

I bought a natural latex mattress once, and while it fine, chemical wise, it didn't allow body heat to escape, and neither me or my wife could stand to sleep on it.  Also it had terrible back support.
