i meant to respond to this long ago.
we live in strange times, folks.
so there are things that can be affecting
sleep that we would never dream of...
but let's keep it simple right now, since
i like simple.

a gentleman named robert gray wrote
a book called "the colon health handbook"
and that book helped a lot of people get
healthier.  he told me about the more
'subtle energies' of food and made me
promise not to publish the info until
he was dead and gone... which he
is now... at any rate, this is what he
explained:

foods from trees are sweet, wet and
cool and are designed to be eaten raw
and to wake us up in the morning.  they
are 'brain food'.  they help you do mental
work.  but don't eat too many or
you will find yourself becoming overly
"fruity and nutty".

foods that grow on vines and tall plants
are meant for giving energy for socializing
and for working with people in offices.
grains, fruits of the vine, cukes, tomatoes,
and so on.  too much makes you overly
aggressive.

foods that grow low to the ground and in
water are designed to support your
emotions...to help you relax after work...
to feed your emotional body. dark green
leafy veggies, watermelon, pineapple,
strawberries, squash, and so on.
eat a lot the day before you go to therapy -
or at picnics in the park, or if you want
to work on buried emotions.
don't eat much if you are interviewing
for a responsible position at a Fortune 500
company.  they won't understand if you
go all gooey on them.

foods that grow underground help you
sleep soundly.  potatoes, sweet potatoes,
onions, garlic, galanga root, ginger.
speaking of which,  need to go to sleep
very soon.  i had a lovely soup tonight
that is lulling me to sleep.

PLUS... where i live now appears to be
haunted - there is an indian burial ground
nearby.  and i have developed a habit of
asking my guardian angels to wrap me
in their wings and protect me from any
thoughts or feelings or untoward influences
that might come my way.  we also live in
a time when people have developed and
are using electronic weapons.  so i sleep
in a mylar tent. and it feels very safe in
there.  i suspect that at least some of us
are being experimented on or are "too
smart" and are being "dumbed down" by
electronic interference.  read kurt
vonnegut's short story "Harrison Bergeron" -
you can download it as a pdf.  i do believe
we might be living in 1984... a few decades
later.

i also have developed a habit of saying
something like, "NO ONE has my permission
to harm me in any way.  NO ONE has my
permission to disturb my sleep.  NO ONE
has my permission to create chaos in my
life."  and so on... addressing whatever
shows up.  have no fear... they have been
implanting us with rfid chips for years
already, so they can hear - and the rules
of the game are that they need your
permission to inflict their mischief on you.
there are patents for many very nifty and
nasty electronic devices - "Silent Weapons
for Quiet Wars" can also be downloaded
as a pdf.  an important read.

off to bed now for a very restful, root
vegetable sleep.  :)
