Ironically, after trying some very expensive organic mattresses that I later rejected, I ended up with something that was relatively cheap, and can be bought on Amazon.com.  No metal, no problems with back support, overheating, or offgassing.

I've had this for a year, and so far it hasn't collapsed to the point where I'd need to buy a replacement (which DID happen for one of the other mattresses I tried previously)
