Karen, HID (HPS or MH) grow lights have 3 parts: the light bulb, the frame/reflector and the transfo/ballast

yes on the greners-links you can see the light bulbs for HID lights

with me, the dirty el. of the analogue transfo "polluted" the entire el. grid in the house, for some reason i didn't have the problem when i switched to digital transfo's/ballasts
