Yes, but there are ways to live in the world but not of it... We can network with others, barter, build community, become more self sufficient and self aware, etc. I may not be able to change the game, but I don't have to play it as often. I can lessen it's impact, just like ES! 


I still stand by my Star Trek decision. :-)

we have been conditioned to play a game
that few of us care to play… MONOPOLY. 
never cared for it.  don't care for it.  and
i kinda resent having to play it.  nobody
should have to pay to live on planet earth.
but if someone can get everyone to play
the game, and he who builds the biggest
pile of it, wins, then ? let them play, but
let me be free of it.  when people will do
anything for it, then they can become
quite destructive, for the game is all that
matters to them… not life, not quality of
life, but just that silly stuff that looks like
green pieces of paper or metal discs or
even just numbers on a screen… it's an
insane game.
