Correct that... Meditation, not mediation, although they can both come in handy. He, he, he...

Wow, what an insightful question, thank you!
I've always been conscious of my health. Had an ulcer in college that was only prolonged by drugs but was cured by a macrobiotic diet, and ever since I've been conscious of what I eat. I pay attention to what my body tells me, so that might put me in the more anxious category. As a kid I was taught to not speak up, so I've had a harder time as an adult speaking up. I tend towards details and perfectionism as well. I always try to do my best. Yet, I've been through tremendous upheaval and change in my life and am doing my best to go with the flow, not get too upset about circumstances. I just want to BE... I do wonder how many folks out there are actually experiencing ES but just aren't aware of it, eh? If they were in touch with their bodies more, they might be seeking the same answers as we are... Awareness is a key, but if the mind gets fixated on something, that can be detrimental as well. Mediation can help in that regard...
Have you thought about doing a yahoo poll in the group? I don't know if it could be done anonymously, but you could poll people on personality traits.
I've learned much about myself by taking one of the Myers Briggs Personality Tests like this...
http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.aspYou might be able to put the Myers Briggs test into a poll and see if there are any correlations...
Another help for me has been this test:

Further to all the posts about adrenal support, my herbal medicine book has this to say about adrenals... 'Adrenalin is responsible for the rapid bodily response to extreme stress, the so called fight or flight syndrome. It is essential that when this response to a situation occurs, the energy released is used. If the response is inhibited, as it often is when triggered by emotional reactions, the body cannot simply forget the adrenalin. It reacts internally, as external expression is suppressed. Over time this can lead to exhaustion and lay the foundations for chronic disease to present itself anywhere in the body.' Interesting, no? I take it to mean that when we suppress emotions we are suppressing the adrenalin. As regards personality type, this might mean someone who didn't speak out when they were angry (or wasn't allowed to speak out)... which resonates with me, personally. I also wonder if ES people are fairly perfectionist, rigid, anxious types -
as opposed to relaxed, happy go lucky types? I am certainly the former. Not sure how much we can 'change' our personality, but we can certainly be aware of how we react to things and how we live. I am def trying to relax more, and not to rush around trying to be 'perfect'...
