Oh so interesting...sounds sooo very familiar to me. I had almost the same experience with Comcast Cable about a week ago. I came with a strong warning, I don't believe the members heard me. I hope they don't feel what I felt soon. Like I tried to say, I haven't encountered the Smartmeter technology yet, but I can't imagine it being worse than the new tower modem that looks like a metal tank and completely wiped me out after about 5-8 mins. of exposure even with shielding on. Plus, afterwards I was left with extreme anxiety with the notion of this is what is next.
I was told also that this is the next generation that everybody wants. The WIFI modems are godless and if they don't cause a considerable amount of injury and misery I will be greatly surprised.
Welcome 2013...

Got back from my hols ( will post on this at a later date) to find that my router/modem had died after a collision with a jug of cold water. I spoke to talk talk who mailed out a new modem directly, except that this new modem was a new upgraded variety, which when I plugged it in,literally blew off my head and shriveled my adrenals and kidneys within seconds. I immediately unplugged it and spoke to the ISP call centre who informed me that the old routers were no longer available and that in future all their modems would now be the new updated variety ( they look like a little rectangular tv styled box. The man on the phone was very helpful, and suggested I switch off the wi fi facility, which I did; however, when I turned the thing back on I immediately got a sharp muscular pain in my side, which I imagine was a reactionary spasm to the force of the field that the now wifi less box was giving off. It was overwhelming to say the least, and worrying as the
talk talk operator stated that they were now trying to get all their customers to transition to these new units. Even after turning the thing off and burying it in the bottom drawer, I still had a pain in my side for 2 days. I have no explanation as to what or how this happened, but I know that these new modem's are very very strong and debilitating, with or without the wi fi feature. I have since been on ebay and managed to get a another of my old modem, and intend to buy a few for future keeps, as from what talk talk said, these old modems are no longer bieng produced and soon only the new version will be available. I recommend that others do the same.
