Hi, a teenagers body clock will tell them that at midnight it realy feels like it is only 8:PM, they know that they don't feel like sleeping, but look at what happens on friday night, stay up to 4:AM and sleep till noon, and the body clock has just been reset, same thing sat and sun and by monday the body clock is wayyyy out causing monday to be a terrible day.

A teens body clock runs at about 28 hrs so it will always advance. A teen who goes to sleep at 4AM will probably end up getting to sleep at 6AM and who knows, maybe at 8AM.

Grandmother has the other problem, at 8PM her body clock will say it feels like midnight and she will realy want to go to sleep, but will wake up at 3AM and stay awake the rest of the night.

The best answer for both teens and the elderly is to go to bed at about the same time every night, and get up at about the same time and to then go outside for a walk and get some sunshine, this may be painful for a teen but the body clock needs to be set every day.

xyz :-)

Teens get up at 5:30 am, or 6, to catch the bus, because high school generally start at 7- the article mentioned the adrenals and sleep patterns of teens, and said they would be better served to start school later and let them sleep in, as they get their best sleep between s/thing like 1am thru 9 or 10 am. I'll have to ask her where that article was. I do notice, as mine is home schooled, that she does MUCH bettter sleeping in, and learns huge amts of info and retains it, being on a later schedule. Her friends who are in school seldom when asked, can even remember what they learned that day, or that week.
> As for candida mechanisms? Absolutely, they rule the body. But I've noticed an interesting pattern: thyroid being down, or low, candida levels go UP.
> Four very different people, dff't ages, diff't background histories...same results! Low thyroid, high candida. Supported thyroid? Candida levels go down. *NOw this doesn't mean that in cases of severe candida, just supporting both these glands is enough. However, I liken it to immune muscle power...support the immune system, give it the tools/minerals it needs to its job..
> and instead of being handicapped....it's got the fire power to do battle with the bad guys, in this case, the parasites. This is also where Iodine plays a big role, as the thyroid needs Iodine to DO ITS JOB...part of which, is to cleanse the blood. Iodine kills parasites. Is it any wonder that candida is such a common issue these days, when the majority of people are deficient in Iodine?
> As the thyroid is a huge part of the body's IMMUNE system, to me, this makes perfect sense. But remember, when I talk about the Thyroid, I am also including the adrenals too. These two glands are partners...when one goes down, the other jumps in to help. If they both go down? There's trouble.
> And with the body being exposed to so many toxic insults these days, its more common then not, for both these glands to be low.
> As for people staying up later....insomnia is one of the most common health issues of the day. Just check out the sheer amount of "sleep aids" being advertised, both prescription, mainstream and alternative. What's causing this? No doubt in my mind, its the micro wave radiation. And there are some who state that they turn UP the cell tower/antenna power at night.
> For those who are able to sleep in, this isn't a problem. But as the body/immune system repairs itself during sleep- lack of sleep can & does play a HUGE role in health.
