Actually, I put the little device in a drawer. Interestingly enough, when I googled car door openers, the one site described the RF as "backscatter". That about explains it..If I open the garage from the kitchen, with my daughter being in the yard, she's right in the path of this. She says immediately, this makes her VERY IRRITABLE!
Same thing I use my remote car key. So now I open/lock the car manually.

I'm not an expert. But I've learned that, they are radio frequencies. So are that of WiFi, cordless/mobile phones, walkie-talkies. Perhaps you can avoid pressing on the button longer than necessary.
