Yes, I'm a bit surprised that someone would be bothered by a remote
garage door opener, as they only transmit for a second, and only
when you are trying to open and close the garage door.  I assume
the reaction you'd get to that would be sharp / short-lived?

As for the frequencies, it varies by the manufacturer, year made, etc.
I see some online that are in the 300 - 400 Mhz range.
