Hi Jim,

Welcome to the group.  I am no longer here very often, but when I come, I answer a few posts
and I noticed somebody else asked recently about what to do about healing the
BBB and you mentioned it also, so I decided to answer your post, since I knew
something about the subject.

You write:
……I found out that there were about 18 wireless devices
within a 12 foot radius of my desk, including 3 of those deadly Idiot-phones…..

Me:
Sorry to hear your sad story.  Sounds like what would have otherwise been a
triumphant occasion (moving to an executive suite), was instead a nightmare!

You:
I moved my office to home… Slowly, my sensitivity decreased, but still today if
I get an over-exposure, it ramps up again.

Me:
Yes, the same happens to me too—if I am over-exposed, I
start having more problems with emfs, tho now I am much better and most of the
time have few problems.  I have lately
had to spend a lot of time at the hospital (my parents are ill) and I come home
from there fried.  It doesn’t bother me
that much while I am there, but I started buzzing at night when I went to bed,
until I made it a priority to get back on the supplements I take.

You:
I struggle with sleep just like most people with EHS do.

Me:
Yes, that was a problem for me for decades until Giles here
suggested sleeping with rose quartz.  I
bought some beads and made a necklace (I believe that he said he just used a
heart shaped stone).  Within 2 weeks I was sleeping 6 hours a night!  I eventually was able to sleep 8 hours many
nights.  That was 20 months ago and I
still use the necklace to sleep.  [I
tried going without it a while and sleeplessness returned.]

You:
Ironically, 6 months before my EHS became recognized as such, my holistic MD
declared after examining me, that I had a leaky blood-brain barrier. His method
of detection was his sophisticated system of kinesiology. I have since seen
this as something related to EHS. I think he really doesn't have a clue as to
how to treat this, but he is now thinking about it and will hopefully be coming
up with something.

Me:
The following can be used to strengthen the blood-brain
barrier:

Blueberries, blackberries, cherries, grapes, bark
and needles of pine trees, bilberries, grape seed extract, pycnogenol, cod
liver oil, vitamins C and E.  Cod liver
oil and vitamin C and E should be taken daily with B complex vitamins and
vitamin D as support.  Glutamine is
recommended, but some people (I was in this category) need to take it in a full
spectrum amino-acid complex, rather than by itself.  Since the tight junctions are gate-keepers to the BBB, one can assume
anything which maintains tj function is going to help: this means all the
various electrolytes themselves are likely helpful, glutens can be dangerous if
you are celiac or have gluten intolerance, and emfs should be avoided when at
all possible (which is the real reason why I practice avoidance).

I personally take a lot of calcium AEP and pantethine, and
very much less amounts of manganese (which itself can be a toxic metal, in excess) and taurine, in addition to the above
mentioned regime (cod liver oil onward); but I also have, in the past, taken
most of the remainder of things mentioned.  Whether
calcium, etc will help you depends on whether your calcium ion channels
are affected.  Other Essers might be
helped by addressing other ion-channels (or additional ion channels), such as
potassium or sodium channels (I personally use more salt than is normal, as well).  I find it helpful to use electrolyte drops in my drinking water to alkalize it, also.

You:
Here's what I'm doing currently to try to remedy this…..

Me:
Sounds like you have a good plan.  I would suggest (since you *do* know you have BBB leaking) that you diligently
check into gluten intolerance.  Not that
you have to have it in order to have BBB leaking, but you cannot recover from
BBB leaking if you do and you do not address it.

Good luck; I hope some of these suggestions work well for you,
Diane
