No, that statement is not correct.
We have electrical fields, magnetical fields, electromagnetical waves and frequencies.
Clean electrical fields of 50/60 Hz do not cause any trouble. Our body is used to it.
But many electrical wirings do contain a lot of *dirty* frequencies, which do not belong there, but are present, and these may harm you.
When current is flowing in wirings and appliances, there are magnetical fields present. These can harm you also.
Electromagmnetic waves are all aropund us presnt, and they can harm you.
But these high frequency carrier waves can conatin low- and middle frequencies, which do certainly harm you.
A friend of mine bought a new computer for his son.
But he experienced electrosensitivity trouble.
I told hem, that perhaps the power supply in the computer may create havoc.
He checked with his Stetzerizer meter and found over 1000 GS units.
He went back to the store and explained his problem.
The got another computer with the same ingedients but another power supply.
They measured before and after just 60 GS units.
TV's may transmit a lot of *dirty air*; these are frequencies from 1 kHz up to 30 MHz.
And electrosensitives may react to those.
But clean 50/60 Hz, without dirty electricity should be no problem.
Not even a refrigerator. Here the magnetical fields do disturb you, not the electrical fields.
Hope this helps.

Subject: [eSens] Re: New here and Sensitive only to lower frequencies
It seems that many folks on this site
have been injured by cell technology and
thus emphasize a sensitivity to RF rather
than the lower frequencies. Some here even
postulate that no one can be sensitive to
60 Hz. The media also focuses on RF. But
there are plenty of us EHSers that have
trouble with computers, TVs and 60 Hz.
Beware, you may eventually become sensitized
to RF as well.
