Actually, does it really matter if there is a high EMF reading
from the car fan being on?  I don't think the EMF from motors is
very harmful, despite the reading on the meter.

It's more often the high frequency square waves ("pulsed signals")
that cause the most damage, but those frequencies come from wi-fi,
cell phones, computers, TVs, "high efficiency" electronics, etc.
Not motors.
