I am struggling with the same thing (copper painted bedroom). I am  
now experimenting with microwave absorbing material. I'll have the  
drapes finished in a few weeks and will let you know if it makes a  
difference.
In the mean time, please make sure as much as possible is turned off  
so there is no electricity getting into that room. Check for  
electrical fields off the walls/shielding paint which will reveal/  
signify there is current running into the room from somewhere.
