Actually, since the half life of radioactive iodine (I-131) is 8 days,
it will essentially burn out about the time it crosses the east coast of
the USA. Hence, I doubt you will get any I-131 in Europe. The purpose of
taking Potassium Iodine is to fill up the receptor sites in the thyroid
and other body tissues, so there is no place for the radioactive iodine
to attach. Since I have already been treating my hypothroid and low body
temperature with iodine from vitaroyalproducts.com, I'm as prepared as
can be.

The other half of the fallout, will be Cs-137 (Cesium-137), and there
are no precautions we can take, besides the standard nuclear fallout
things, like staying inside, and not letting the outside air in while it
is above alert levels. I understand there was a lot of Cs137 in eastern
europe after Cherynobyl.

The more reactors they _admit_ on the news having a problem, the more
worried I'll be. Only time will say how many microRems/hr we will get
here. I have a beta and gamma radiation detector, so I'll know if or
when it arrives.

The reports are so mixed swinging between no contamination/fallout to the core's exposed and we're all going to die. Me and my thyroid gland intend intend to be fully prepared, so if anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate it. By the way have checked 50 plus on line sites and they are all all completely sold out, which i think is telling.
