Tent/grounding (was Re: more questions than answers)

In the meantime I've installed my tent.

My "feeling" in the tent was confirmed by my measurements later,

When in sleeping bag I'm not grounded. When I'm on the bottom of the tent I'm partially grounded.

I tested voltage each time with holding my laptop (on electric grid) in left hand, measuring me at the same time with a grounded bio-voltmeter. I was wearing cotton clothes but barefeet.

Approximately 3-4 Volts:
-inside house
-laying on sleeping bag (polyester) only in tent
-laying on mattress only in tent
-laying on duvet only in tent

Approximately 0.4-0.8 Volts:
-laying directly on bottom of tent (bottom tent made of nylon)

Approximately 0.1-0.2 Volts:
-barefeet directly on soil
-touching soil with one finger
-touching grounding rod

So...

Sleeping directly on the bottom of the tent is the way to go if you want to have some grounding-advantage of sleeping in a tent... Must say that's quite uncomfortable and coldish!

Could be different results for different materials. But with the sleeping bag or mattress I have here it seems useless to sleep in a tent for grounding purposes.

I could sleep grounded in a tent with my sleeping bag if I would be linked with a grounding rod. But I (can) do that already when sleeping in my bedroom. Advantage of the grounding rod when sleeping in a tent is that it doesn't have to be very long (2 inches could be enough already), which is better I suppose (a very short grounding rod not receiving a lot of emf like an antenna)...

Stephen.
