Hey Ads,

Everybody seems to react differently on different pc's/screens/specifications/harddisks/...

Imo the best you can do is test a lot of different pc's before actually bying:

-ask friends/family... if you can use/test their pc's
-rent laptops for one day
-ask the pc shop manager if you can work on one in the shop or (much better) if you can take a showroom model home for one day

The further away the computer is from you the better of course. Some work with very long cables to put everything as far as possible, big screens 2 meters from where they sit...

If you would choose a laptop you should use an extra wired keyboard and wired mouse.

A laptop has the advantage that you can work with it on battery only (for acouple of hours), when it's on battery it emits less emf.

But a desktop has the advantage that you can put it further away from you (unless you hook up your laptop on a screen).

On laptops and some dekstops you get a wifi-receiver for free!, it is best to get rid of it hardware-wise although it is not easy to do, it seems the wifi receivers emit a lot of emf (even if you disable it software-wise).

Somebody has put a thin "aquarium" in front of the screen. Water absorbs the emf from the screen. Maybe we should start experimenting with putting water in bags on a desktop pc?!

You can use stuff like Quantum, Bioprotect card,... which may help too (I think Marc uses a couple of things like that when working on his pc).

There's also a lot more info here when you use the search-function.

good luck testing!
Stephen.

The things im concerned about so far are:- wireless,3g, screen brightness and any other elements that may crank up the volume on electromagnetic hell. After that im looking for something very small and portabe with a big memory given that I travel a lot. I would appreciate feedback as to what other things I should be looking out for +/- any recommendations as to brands/models that people have had sucess with. My old computer has given me very little trouble compared to other newer and stronger desk tops I have used in the last year, which all invariably leave me feeling just a little bit sick.I would hope that whatever model I buy will not have that kind of deleterious effect
