Hi,
The electrosmog detector only has a frequency range up to 3 GHz. That is
not high enough to catch the new WLAN at 5.8 GHz that has invaded my
rural valley. Now 3 neighbors have wireless routers for their computers
and satellite internet!
The Acoustimeter does cover up to 8 GHz
I have now heard that beacon over 1000 ft (305 m) away from the source.
And unless there is a fourth neighbor eastward with it too, I can detect
that beacon at 2870 ft (875m) when I am on the next plateau east.
I also find it interesting when walking (riding) through the woods on a
hillside the next valley over, that I can hear distant 3G from towers in
some places, like hot spots. Not all hilltops are in line of sight with
Franson Peak, and the valley floor is very quiet. But in between, I get
signals in places I did not expect. Very useful, holding up a meter
while riding large distances.
I have updated my page with more meter results and a table comparing the
different meters I have.
http://seaHorseCorral.org/ehs1.htmlI wish there were more "In-the-field" comparisons like this (of the
other meters I don't have.)
:)
