Hi All,
Best one I've used is the Acoustimeter from EMFields. It's a little pricey,
but if you rent it for a week you can minimise costs. I shared rental with
a friend and therefore only spent £17.50 for the privilege.
http://www.emfields.org/equipment/acoustimeter.aspYou can turn the sound up or down on this. Also it has the advantage of
indicating what type of frequency you have picked up based on the type of
sound that comes through. It also shows current readings and average
readings. I did some great testing with this!
Regards
David

It is a good idea to have one that goes up to 5 GHz at least now.
I do wish there were more that were a bit more sensitive.
Of course with the external antenna you can improve sensitivity
by getting a dish antenna. And with some meters I've had luck
just putting a metal bowl behind it to increase sensitivity and
directionality... but I never got it to work on the "yellow ball" meter
we were discussing before (it has 3 antennas inside... using
X mode may only activate one, and one could try to figure out
which).
