Thank you all for your replies. I'm glad to hear your opinions of IV chelation -- I will avoid that -- it has made me a bit nervous from the beginning and fortunately, the Dr is not pushing it. (I'm always leery of the "have a hammer so everything looks like a nail" phenomenon.) She does think I have a toxicity issue -- I am heterozygous for MTHFR A1298C, so I don't detox well apparently. She has me on methylcobalamine and methyltetrafolate. I haven't noticed any difference after 3 mos of this. I did notice that Milk Thistle makes me feel bad (exacerbates my symptoms). Would that mean that it is detoxing me -- or would that more likely mean I should just quit taking it? Is that the kind of reaction you guys get when you take too much of something like ALA?

Sorry for all the questions! Thanks!! Amy : )

Subject: [eSens] heavy metal poisoning ideas

People here have mentioned that heavy metal poisoning is a possible cause of ES. My Dr tests for it using an urine provocation test and then chelates using DMPS. I'm looking for opinions on the best way to chelate. There is another group that has a "my way or the highway" attitude and basically said doing it my doctor's way would kill me. (She hasn't lost anyone yet actually.) : )

I would love to hear opinion and success stories (& failure stories for that matter....)

What books would y'all recommend on detoxing heavy metals and detoxing in general.
Has anyone read "Natural Mercury Detoxification" by William Rasmussen? Is it worth buying?

I don't yet know if heavy metal poisoning is my problem -- but I've done the adrenal/thyroid stuff, totally changed my diet to gf and ultra healthy and take handfuls of supplements -- and I'm not feeling any better.

I'm discouraged! Amy
