British Gas and Vodafone join hands
Those who swear by the versatility of Vodafone mobile phones have a reason to smile. If reports are anything to go by, the network major would partnerwith British Gas and unleash smart meters. These would supposedly provide the consumers with more authentic meter readings. If sources are to be believed, Vodafone has inked a multi-million-pound deal with British gas.
The contact has been entered into with the purpose of deploying smart meters. Reportedly, by 2012, almost 1M households would have these meters. For those who are interested in the technicalities, these meters would be equipped with a SIM card. This card would read the amount of energy consumed. Thebest part is that the consumers would be in a win-win situation as they would no longer have to wait for the gas board guys to come and check the meters. In other words, they can bid adieu to manual checking as they would automatically get the bills.
This could be seen as another measure taken by Vodafone for the benefit of its consumers. It is not unknown that the network giant has always managed to woo the consumers with its offerings. Be it the latest mobile phones or the recently unleashed broadband deals, it offers them all. Nevertheless, Iam in awe of one of the handsets that’s available on Vodafone and it’s none other than the BlackBerry 8520 Curve. Blessed with bewildering looks, this gadget is fully loaded with out of the box features.
To begin with, it has on offer, a 2 mega pixel camera. Equipped with a resolution of 1600×1200 pixels, it allows you to click really clear pictures. Moreover, you can even record videos in QVGA mode. According to me, themost attractive feature of the BlackBerry 8520 Curve is the full QWERTY keyboard that it is embellished with. It makes typing quite an easy task to accomplish. Some more characteristics that it boasts of are TFT screen, GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB, music player and a standard Li-Ion 1150 mAh battery, among others.
