I have a 60 inch LCD & I feel it but it's not bad. I sit pretty far away. Ithink that is the key. Don't sit too close to it. Loni

Hi all,

I find myself in a situation where I may have to make a quick decision on an LCD TV to purchase. My main purpose for needing to buy an LCD TV at this time is to hook up to a desktop computer unit. This is for a space-limited bedroom - so I need my LCD t.v. to "double" as a computer monitor.

I haven't owned an LCD TV before, so I have no real experience and don't know what to expect. Are LCD TVs as troublesome as computers for electrosensitives? Or do you guys find LCD TVs tolerable?

LCD TVs are widely "advertised" as emitting (much) less radiation than CRT TVs - even the emf-conscious sources push this fact (the article in Prevention magazine spoke favorably of LCD TVs and even virtually recommended them). I was wondering if electrosensitives' real-life experiences with LCDs matched-up with this fact.

Are you guys able to use LCD TVs with little or no problems? Any recommendations as far as a brand, refresh-rate, or other "parameters" (720p, 1080i, etc.)?

Oh, and since I'm sensitive to brightness - I am hoping to avoid a LCD witha really bright screen. The "dimmer" the screen, the better - at least to a point.

Btw, I've decided that a 22-inch LCD would be the best fit for my bedroom. I would love to be able to "get away" with a 19-inch, but I believe that 19" screens are a little too small to be comfortably viewed from, say, 10 feet away (which is the approx. distance from where I lay in bed to the TV area).

Any testimonies, help, etc. appreciated!

P.S. - I really don't "need" an HDTV, but since basically all LCD TVs have that capacity, I guess I'm forced to buy one.
