Hi Kris,

I buy Azteca corn tortillas, usually.  They didn't used to have anything in them but water, corn, and lime juice when I started buying them.  Awhile back they began adding fumaric acid but now the newones I bought have also a calcium preservative and guar gum.  I thinkthis is bad news, so I am either going to look for a new brand or going to make my own.  I use guar gum, that isn't the issue; the issue is they are no longer pure ingredients--too many additives now.

I've noticed some I can tolerate and others not, but hadn't realized it could be a brand issue. What brand of corn tortillas do you buy usually?

I do get an organic Free Range Chicken and Beef broth from Pacific foods that I can tolerate really well. That helps a lot to have these as the base of my cooking.

Hi, Kris,

You write:
everything must be made from scratch. Even your broths for soup.

(me:)
Yes, that is the way I go, too. About the only thing I still buy manufactured are corn tortillas and I am having problems now finding the healthy(ier)brand locally.

You can still eat from the fruits and vegetables aisle...
