I have certainly used many air cleaners over the years... I worry
that the motor/fan ones contribute to ES, although that doesn't
stop me from having the fan on my furnace running 24/7. :-)

I also use cleaners that emit small amounts of ozone into the air...
but probably not much more than you'd experience outdoors in
the mountains. This keeps down the smell of any chemicals,
pets, etc. I gave up on "ionizers" years ago, as they didn't
appear to have any benefits, and destroyed the furniture
and the walls.
