Paul & Diane,
I'm just jumping into this topic so forgive me if I have misinterpreted your posts or am repeating something.
Following are some exerts from The Healing Energies of Magnets by Roger Coghill. From what I've experienced and heard magnetic therapy is not for us EMS sufferers. But I did like this book for explaining electromagnetic fields.
Our bodies make extensive use of ions for transmitting electric signals between the brain and and the nerves. So it is not surprising that largequantities of ions, whether natural or artificial in origin, can affect human health. (we feel better when the air is negatively charged)
Prior to a storm water-laden clouds become negatively charged, due tofriction between the water molecules and the air through which the cloud passes. Positive ions then accumulate beneath the cloud. As the clouds progress down the sky, these positive ions pile up and the wind begins to pushthem ahead of the clouds.
The Earth's surface is also negatively charged as a result of chemicalreactions at it's core. This high level of positive ions before a storm creates a distinct feeling or airlessness or stuffiness in the atmosphere (and physical discomfort to some). Eventually the attraction between the negative and positive charges overcomes the air's resistance and the result isa flash or more of lightning. Thunder then rolls and down comes the rain. After the storm how clear and sweet the air appears! This is because theair is now surcharged with negative ions and the balance of negative and positive charges on the Earth's surface has been restored.
Other places that have natural negative ions are in the mountains and at the seashore. I know I always feel better when we vacation in the mountains. And people have been traveling to the seashore for centuries to feel better , but maybe it's the view. :)
Paul, I can relate to your memory issues. Post it Notes have become my friend. And the sleepless nights. I hope that clears up for you soon.
Good luck,
Jennie

Hi Diana, I cant recall how I feel as its been a while, definitely not a
release unless the storm really works itself out. As for memory I a getting
very concerned at the state of my memory, I am starting to loose chunks
and short term is really bad, I feel spaced out, this is probably due to
broken sleep (wake at 3.30am every morn and then fight to fall asleep) and
overdoing it on this thing, I will have to go back to my laptop at a distance
instead of being 600mm from the screen at present. Ironically I have missed
my medical for benefit state claims twicw now cos I literally forgot - I
have to pull my self out of this nose dive, yet again thank heavens I have
made it through another dark dreary winter - its been Plasma TV hell !

Hi, Paul,
I react similarly--I pick up on what I think is a growing instability in
the atmosphere before a storm. It can affect my whole body sometimes.
There is a growing pressure and anxiety within me (along with many
symptoms--EMS and other) and when the storm actually hits, I feel release. Is this how
you react as well?
Be well,
Diane
