Not sure if this has to do with the ion channels you've been talking about specifically, but maybe. Ran across it today:
Taurine - ...Taurine is a non-essential amino acid and is found in high concentrations in the white blood cells, skeletal muscles, >central nervous system< as well as the heart muscles.
...This nutrient is also used in the proper use of potassium, calcium as well as sodium in the body, and for maintaining cell membrane integrity. It is thought to be helpful with anxiety, hyperactivity, poor brain function and epilepsy as well as hydrating the brain. Taurine, together with zinc is also required for proper eye health and vision....

Hydrating the brain sounds good to me. Helping the cns, epilepsy, which seems very similar to ems to me. Also since it helps with regulation of cholesterol, which is necessary to reparing the myelin sheath, which should reduce symptoms, could be helpful. :)
Also have read that black pepper, bay and ??? are good at tightening up thejunctions in leaky gut syndrome. Leaky in the gut or the brain, basically the same difference.
