Are they the large (incandescent) halogens, or the smaller 12 volt halogens?
I don't think there is any problem with incandescent halogens, but
the smaller ones can cause problems because they use transformers to
convert 120 volts down to 12 volts.

Of course, the only way to know if you'll react strongly is to try it
and see!
