Hi Marc

Hmnn

I'm no expert but I have over the last 6 weeks or so been reading a lot about vitamin D - Dr Mercola gives great information about it and his advice is that you need to be very careful around formulations with vitamin A in them - i will try to check out the link and post it so you can read it for yourself, but if you were taking 3 of these a day you'd have been takingin a lot of Vitamin A and perhaps it was that which was counteracting any positive benefits you could have got from the Vitamin D.

I'm taking 2000 iu per day of Pro Health's vitamin D3 which I seem to be doing ok on so far - when the summer comes [fingers crossed] if we get some decent sunshine I will hope to manufacture my Vit D naturally and, weather permitting, intend to suspend my supplement until the autumn. Apparently thebest time of the day to make it from the sun is the hourse between 12 and 2pm [when we are all supposed to be in the shade] and it is advisable not to shower immediately after exposure because then you will be washing off the skin oils which you need to help your body absorb it into the blood stream. Enough about vitamin D - I'll look for the link.

Best wishes

Steph

I was taking a Vitamin D tablet from Standard Process, a company
which makes professional- grade supplements for doctors. The
product was called "Cataplex D", and I was (attempting) to
take 3 tablets per day, or 2400 IU. But I could not tolerate
this amount.

I've previously tried 3 other brands of Vitamin D, but could not
tolerate these either (including just plain old cod liver oil).

So now my doctor has switched me to Innate Response Formulas
Vitamin D-3, which is another doctor's brand, but this Vitamin D-3
is a whole-foods vitamin, compared to 99.9% of the other brands
which are synthetic:

And now my dose is down to 1 tablet per day of this new
supplement, or 400IU.

Note that I have no problem with lying out in the sun --
my problem seems to just be with supplements,

Marc
