Heh, heh.. yes, I'm not too clear on what "common mode" noise is
either... I just try things, and see if they help. :-)

I guess if one needs common mode noise rejection, then you could
get something like the $20 TDK ANF-106U Plug-in RFI Filters sold
on this site:

Although these can only handle 6 amps, so I don't think you could
use these with a fridge, which probably requires more amperage.
