Dishes must pick up a lot of stray data transmissions that's why they often
filter the lines. The cables are very leaky together with all the other
coupled and linked gadgets. You may also have a lot of dirty power in your
electrics, this is getting worse with broadband over power lines and plug in LAN
devices.
Use the AM radio as stated.
