Hi, Marc and Loni,
Yes, I get skin burning from glutens, pesticides, various chemicals, and molds, besides emfs/magnetic frequencies. It has been postulated by some alternative docs that I may be experiencing a type of autonomic neruopathy or small-fiber neuropathy, but I have not checked this out as I am rather AMA doctor phobic and I'd like to hang onto my money for other things right now. ;) If you are not getting headaches and other symptoms, then the possibility exists that what you are experiencing might not be ES (tho for you to come to this conclusion probably means it is--ES isn't the first place people look to to explain their symptoms.)
As to the helps that Marc mentions, the hydrogen supplement helps me in other ways than just for the burning (with energy depletion, bp plummeting, body temp, heart rate...), as does alkalizing my water (or alkalizing in general). Alkalizing as a whole has an affect on the adrenal glands--acidic metabolism causes a rise in serotonin secretion (in the body, not thebrain). It is my understanding that serotonin also has a role to play in helping regulate the autonomic system (with the adrenal glands). When the hormone is out of sinc with the other hormones or too abundant, the autonomic system can malfunction. Hydrogen causes alkalization and a lessening of serotonin dumping (as do a number of other supplements--NADH is similar tho expensive; if my memory serves, rhodeola rosea is another herbal supplement that can alkalize/affect the hydrogen in your body, tho when I tried it, it was less potent than what I needed.) And, it could be
that the hydrogen products are working just because they provide negative ions for the positive ions from emf/magnetic frequencies to bond to, thus keeping your body from becoming too acid and causing serotonin dumping from that.
Calcium AEP and pantethine and co-Q10 are all supplements that help the adrenals and the autonomic system, (as a result of helping the adrenals, if not directly). CoQ10, cal AEP, and pantethine also help the lymphatic system, which can be a factor in who develops ES. I am not positive (I have notes somewhere but I am packing to move and everything is in disarray), but I think coQ10, cal AEP, and pantethine are also supplements that affect the liver detox phases. So, what I am saying is, to some degree, any or all of these should help you on an ongoing basis, not necessarily just when you are on the road (tho I can understand needing helps for this as well). And Iam saying also, that if Marc likes the "H-minus" product for this, there is some evidence as to why and how it works. Marc and I have had this conversation before and I use "Hydrogen Booster" (which I believe Marc recommended to me), but there are certainly other hydrogen boosting products
out there which will also work.
These are not the only supplements which work for ES. I find balancing electrolytes helps (I esp like a product called "Electro-blast", but I don't like to order online and have not been able to order this for sometime by phone, so do not know whether they are still in business.) Omega oils, fattyacids, lipids--this whole line of supplements seem to help me in particular ratios--I couldn't possibly suggest amounts and products for these, as these seem to be supplements which you have to tweak to your own body's needs. For me personally, any supplements which help my liver also help the ES.This includes supplements which address liver detox pathway issues.
Also, you can experiment with various types of jewelry that you own. I have experimented with wearing a stainless steel necklace and bracelet. If I wear them next to my skin, it causes worse burning and pain. It works if Iwear them over clothing (needs to be rather thick, so this might not work for you in the desert this time of year! lol) But certainly try things like this by sitting them close to you or in front of you if you cannot wear it. Try silver, crystals, gems, etc--various gems and crystals also have absorbing properties. Esp try strings of beads which have no metal clasps. It is a bit like trees--if you can attract the emfs to another object, thenthey can sometimes be less attracted to you. ALSO along this vein, the REMOVAL of jewelry might help. Wires in eyeglasses, underwire bras, your wedding ring...
What helps me most in the car is film on windows and aluminum foil on the sunvisors which I can put up and down as a shield from particular directions. (And which doesn't always work if there is a tower behind you somewhere.)
Good luck, Loni. So much of this is trial and error that you just have to work at until you find a solution.
Diane

Is skin burning the only symptom you're trying to overcome?
Is it just in the face, or elsewhere?
You might want to research that particular symptom, as I'm
sure there are more things than just EMF that can cause
burning skin. I get the best relief from burning skin
using the devices you already tried and returned (Quantum
Products), but next up I guess I'd try some kind of
antioxidant supplement or perhaps an essential fatty acid
supplement? For me, "H-Minus" from e3Live helps relieve
burning skin:

(note the $13 trial size!)
Also, Shikai Dry Skin Therapy skin lotion is helpful:

The skin lotion can probably be found in any health
food store.
