Concerning lamps, I am busy looking into this matter.
There are three aspects:
1. magnetic AC fields
2. VLF frequencies
3. Light spectrum
My conclusion for the moment is as follows:
CFL bulbs are to be avoided at all costs, because they emit magnetic fields
as well as VLF frequencies.
They also do raise the dirty power in the mains.
Halogen bulbs on lowtension (12Volt) are to avoided too; magnetic fields and
raise of dirty power enormously.
However, halogen lamps on 220 Volts (here in Europe) are acceptable.
Practically no magnetic fields, no raise in dirty power, and practically
noemission of VLF frequencies.
At the moment, LED lamps overhere are available, but the light is very weak;
hardly enough for reading.
However, I got hold of a 3 Watt LED lamp, with a E27 socket, which did not
give magnetic fields, but a raise in dirty power, and emission of VLF
frequencies.
I recorded some sounds of these lamps with my solar module, and will place
them soon on my home page with the other sounds there under *Info*.
So, my conclusion for the moment is, that halogen lamps on 220 Volts are the
best choice momentarily.
I do have tolook into those LED lamps further, because they are the ones for
the future.

For my Profi Spion I use a solar module as antenna. I also do have a smal
new digital antenna for my VLF Detector, for finding those VLF emissions in
the air.
Aside to that, I am experimenting with a new Spectran NF 5020, on which I
can mount those antennas also, and can measure and record those frequencies
exactly.
It is striking how much different frequencies are emitted from lamps.

Subject: [EMR-EMF] Why NOT to use CFL bulbs
We are urged us to switch from regular incandescent light bulbs to compact
fluorescent (CFL) light bulbs, to save energy. However, there is a very good
reason NOT to use CFL bulbs. They create electromagnetic frequencies proven
to be
extremely detrimental to human health.
CFL's operate at high frequency using an electronic switching ballast to
chop
up the 120 volts - that's how they are able to use less energy when compared
to incandescent bulbs. Their typical operating frequency is in the region of
20kHz to 100kHz, a frequency range known to produce adverse effects on
health.
