I'm not so sure that you can generalize this to an "overactive immune
system". In my own case, I have seen myself catching colds and flus
far more often than normal, and as such see my immune system as
being overwhelmed. Perhaps my immune system is overactive in
some areas and underactive in others (inappropriate response)
