my mom also hears "crickets".
I wonder how quickly your tinnitus tones go away when known causes are
turned off?
For everyone, I'll share my mom's experience:
Before moving here, back when they were putting up towers around where
my parents lived, the tinnitus was getting louder for her, and very
annoying.
After moving here 5 years ago, the sound went down in volume. But has
been creeping up in stages, which I believe are when new wireless
services go online around here.
The volume is now back to where it was 5 years ago, and since there are
nowhere near the number of towers or neighbors, I can only suspect
something farther away, or something close and undetectable, unless the
background noise level is considered.
She gets no relief (like I do) when the AC power goes out. I would
assume this rules out dirty electricity as a primary cause.
