One problem with LCDs is that the electronics are much closer to you.
With a CRT, the nasty stuff is in the back of the monitor, which is
much further away from you than the front of the monitor. Also, part
of that electronics is a DC->AC inverter, which provides power to
the florescent backlight. This is probably causing some symptoms,
and I don't think a CRT has any inverter (nor a florescent light).
People think LCDs are safer than CRTs because they have less magnetic
field in the 60 hz range. However, an LCD is still a high voltage
device (thanks to the florescent light), and has a significant
electric field in the high frequency range.

If I used a CRT monitor on a daily basis, I am less sensitive to
florescent lights (which of course are everywhere). If I use an
LCD monitor on a daily basis, I become more sensitive to florescent
lights over a period of several days. Also, I find that I have
to use more EMF protection devices with an LCD than a CRT --
specifically, the more powerful ones from Quantum Products
(Quantum Pro, etc.). A Springlife Polarizer doesn't seem
to provide much benefit with an LCD, however, it works quite
well with a CRT.

There are those glass screens that can pick up some of the EMF
and divert it to a ground wire, but I didn't get much relief
from that. You can also dim the monitor to a minimum brightness
level, but again that didn't help me much. The only solutions
that worked for me is moving it further away, using strong
items from Quantum Products, or switching back to a CRT.
But I really haven't experimented nearly as much with LCDs
as I have with CRTs, so I'm willing to admit that there
may be a simple solution that I never tried.

Yes, I have made the mistake of using the Springlife Polarizers
too much as well. I think excessive use of these will mobilize
more toxins than your body can handle, which is essentially
what the EMF is doing as well. However, limiting your use
of these to particular situations (or placing them on whatever
is emitting the EMF rather than on you) can be more helpful
than not using them at all. But perhaps not for LCD monitors.
For these, your best bet is stuff from Quantum Products, and
maybe to a small degree, the RADAR card that I mentioned
previously (put on the monitor, not you)
