Another tentative theory for ringing in the ears is that the myelin sheath
round the nerves has been damaged (e.g. by mercury crossing the blood-brain
barrier) and that the whole nerve is exposed to incoming fields, not just
the bits at the ends (synapses) which are supposed to transmit electrical
impulses. Like stripping the insulation off an electric wire and exposing
the whole of the metal.
Paul Uk replies - That sounds v. ominous and would likely be a precursor and
leaving you predisposed to nuerological disease such as MS, would it not ?
Whatever causes the disfunction in the myelin sheath is likely to be at a
cellular level disrupting the maintenance of the poteins etc..
