Hi Tammy, unfortunately there aren't any tests yet to conclusively determine
ES, which is one of the reasons why "mainstream" medicine is so sceptical.
It would be great if someone could find one!

However, your skin rash and other symptoms sound very like the effects
reported, particularly in Sweden, which first identified ES. The general
cause was high levels of exposure to computers/screens and mobile (cell)
phones.

You mention "other health problems" - do these include ME, CFS or MCS
(multiple chemical sensitivity)? For many people, these are precursors to
developing ES. They are usually a sign of immune system problems (lots of
mails in the past in the group about this). Also, is this your first job
where you have used a cellphone for such long periods?

Subject: [eSens] ES and face burning rash



For about a year and a half, I've had this rash on my face. I feel a
burning, skin crawling, itching sensation. Little white bumps show up
on my face when it's at it's worse. Now the part that has healed looks
like a sunburn. At times it's so bad I itch it till it bleeds. A few
months ago I took a few weeks off work and the rash almost completly
went away. I went back to work and it came back. Last month I was in a
hotel room, using my cell phone and happened to look in the mirror. The
rash is exactly where I hold my phone. I use a computer 4-6 hours a day
and a cell phone at least an hour per day, sometimes more often. So I
googled my symptoms and found ES information. I had never heard of it
before. I've also had a lot of other health problems that I never had
before I took this job. Now I'm noticing the same kind of stinging on
my chest when I've been at the computer for a long time. Is there any
testing that a doctor can do to determine if it is ES? Thanks for
