I think the crystalline structure of the flakes has something to do
with it. I noticed that wire Christmas Trees can disrupt signals so
that leads me to believe that the compact layer of shapes in the water
crystalline structure can also disrupt the signal.
I'm no scientist. Just my guess.
I am glad there is something that can stop that signal.
