Yes, this is true. Battery operated laptops generate a wide range of
AC (as in non-DC) singals (and therefore fields) -- ranging from
about 100 Hz thru the audio and RF range, and thru the VHF and UHF
range -- from the DC power, else they would not be able to operate.
