I went on a cruise a few years ago, and didn't find it to be too much of a problem.
The worst areas for me were the casinos, which had these huge CRTs on some of the
games. The shopping areas had florescent lights as well, but for the most part,
the ship was okay. I brought my Quantum Pro with me, but it turns out that it
was an Italian cruise liner that was running off 220 volts, and they didn't have
usable outlets for the passengers anyway (other than a too-weak shaver outlet)
