I should have explained that this was a very simplistic explanation of how we form allergies. There is of course much more to it than what I explained. For one thing, we are not allergic to things the first time our body experiences them. On the first encounter, the body just accesses whatever the substance is and what it does. It is the second encounter with the antigen that gets the guns.
