RE: Is ES an allergy?

I think Diane puts it very well. Allergy-type toxins are often implicated
in ES. ES is not strictly speaking an allergy, however we often describe
Sue's condition to other people as "allergic to electrical waves" as people
can identify easily with the sort of problems allergy is likely to cause.
"If you get exposed to a small amount of the irritant, you suffer a bad
reaction", which is a reasonable description of ES.

Generally it seems that people with severe ES have either had severe immune
system problems (e.g. MCS) or prolonged high exposure to electricity (as
recognised officially in Sweden). So if you are a software engineer working
constantly with computers and are beginning to feel symptoms, this could
well be a warning sign for you. It really is an individual thing - I can
work on the computer for hours and days on end, whereas my wife Sue who is
MCS and ES can't come near it. So again in that respect ES behaves like an
allergy, even if theoretically it isn't one.

Hi, Ligure,

I have food intolerances and many allergies. I am also celiac. It might
be interesting to note that allergens can create body toxins, that your
immune system attacks, quite like pesticides or virus or bacteria. Also, in
the immune response, your body produces hormones which themselves can cause
waste products to further clog elimination systems, making detoxing more
difficult.

What I am saying is I don't believe that ES is an allergy, however, I
believe that all allergies cause toxins and toxins are involved in the ES
symptoms, some of which are detoxing symptoms and some of which are
lymphatic congestion symptoms and some of which are unknown (and possibly
EMF reactions--those, if they actually exist, could possibly be allergic
symptoms, but I doubt it.)

So in reading the recent threads I was reminded of some of the same
thoughts and descriptions around food and chemical allergies. I had
thought that they were different things until something someone said
made me think that they may be more related than I originally
considered. And that said I have a question for those that are
explicitly ES. For my background, I think I might be partially due to
my profession (Software Engineer) and excessive ES exposure. I do know
that when I get a new computer I am out for about a week while my body
adjusts to the change for instance.

Therefore, I want to open it for discussion on "ES an allergy?"

Some of my understanding on allergies (I am not an expert but I do
know more than many doctors because of family problems with food
allergies).
* Allergies are something you develop and can overcome. Sometimes it
is time based and exposure in both of these.
* Just being in the vicinity of the substance can cause you problems.
For instance there is someting called a muscle test that you can use
to determine an allergic response.
* It affects the blood and other portions of the body chemistry.
* Despite exposure, not everyone has them.
* From some of my research the main reason for an allergic response
lies in one's body overacting to exposure. Sometimes the metabolic
processes fail to do their job and the immune system tries to attack
the allergen.

Those are very very high level I realize, but I don't have time to
write a paper on it. You can Google it and find information for
yourselves on allergies.

Something I want to ask for those that have considered that ES may be
an allergy, have you tried the following:
1) Avoiding exposure to see if it goes away by letting your body
become stronger?
2) Tried desensitization through controlled exposure?
Those two are conventional medicine approach. The rest are alternative
(which I have found more successful at solving the problem more than
the system)?
3) Tried supplementation of vitamins, mineral, herbs?
4) Tried doing cleanses (i.e. liver, bowel, blood/tissue) through
herbal or homeopathic means?
5) Tried getting dental amalgams replaced?
6) Tried a direct allergy treatment through homeopathic remedies?
7) Tried a direct energetic allergy treatment through NAET, BioSet, etc.?

The latter I find has given the best results in the allergen problem
for folks. I do not know about ES and therefore I am posting here.

I realize that many of you already use devices and personal items
(i.e. neclace) so I have not listed them.

Thanks!
