Thanks everyone for the responses to my question
about the power lines coming into the house we
were looking at. I was at this house again today,
and I was definitely bothered by being there,
but I can't really blame the power lines,
as the house has a dimmer switch in every
room, has a wireless phone, and wireless
internet. Such are the perils of house
shopping... :-)

I suspect that without these things, plus
the addition of some well-placed devices
(as I do in my current home) that things
would probably be okay. I guess if we
make an offer and it is accepted, I will
get a chance to test that theory!
